      Description

Currently the Available Services is pretty flat. There is a request from Thomas Kuhn working on cdk-taverna to be able to specify deeper categories for the Local workers. From taverna-hackers thread "Integration Local Worker to the currentTaverna Release" at 2006-12-27:

What to I need to do to get such a folder structure within for my local
      workers:

      cdk-taverna/processor-X
      cdk-taverna/processor-Y
      cdk-taverna/processor-Z
      cdk-taveran/IO/processor-A
      cdk-taveran/IO/processor-B
      cdk-taveran/IO/processor-C
      cdk-taveran/Filter/processor-1
      cdk-taveran/Filter/processor-2
      cdk-taveran/Filter/processor-3

And I would like to have such a folder structure beside the Local Java
      Widget folder!
      Is this possible?

This affects the LocalServiceScavenger and the definitions in localworkers.properties instances.

In addition other scavengers might want to be a bit more tree-like as well. Peter Li suggested to taverna-hackers in thread "Deeper trees in SoaplabScavenger" at 2006-10-05 that Soaplab services could be organized more hierarchical, and even had some patches ready:

Tom: I added some lines of code into SoaplabScavenger.java to
enable Soaplab services to be grouped under multiple child
tree nodes for easier browsing and to save space on the
      services panel
      (http://dbkgroup.org/peter/taverna/images/services_window.png)
. Might be worth adding into CVS?

However, we were not certain at the time if that was desirable or not.
