  • NETTAB TrCG Meeting washup
  • Updates on TeSS
  • Next weeks all hands meeting
  • AOB

  • Did presentation on accomplishments and roadmap of TeSS. Plus brief overview and curator tools demo.

  • Change URL to - instead of elixir-uk - in progress. Emailed the Hub and got Caroles approval.

  • Encouraged TrCG to be curators but probably should have pressed a lot harder. Will be sending an e-mail and hosting a webinar to outline the responsibilities and duties of training co-ordinators at some point soon; rather than it being such a voluntary activity. The spreadsheet to sign up can be found here

    • Rafa: The hub will support this decision. Will also add Maria who is the events organizer for ELIXIR. She would make a good curator.

  • Software demo was a TOTAL wash out. Small desk in the back corner of a loud coffee room. Never really got to display Training workflows.

  • Bjorn registry of galaxy - Creating YAML compliant metadata with minimal Bioschemas fields. Get this interpreted into json-ld down the line.

Updates on TeSS

Content Providers

GOBLET metadata standard will be brought inline with bioschemas. Just to note as scraper may change.

Completed Cambridge scraper. Provided nice API for us to use

Rafa: Have you heard of - annotate web pages. Chrome extension, highlight parts of the page that contain certain information. View the annotations as an RSS stream. Supposed to be an automated annotation feature?

Working on filtering CSC events by 'tess' tag. Not very consistent so difficult

EBI Train online emailed today to say beginning integration work soon

TeSS code

Finn busy Refactoring scrapers and rewriting RDFa parser. Ran into lots of issues due to malformed RDF.

Milo need to update server and restart to patch recently found security flaw in ubuntu. Created a fix for tooltip issue, will put on the test server.

All hands next week

Presentations at ELIXIR-UK next week - one on Bioschemas integration with TeSS, one on TeSS.

Rafa: Could Finn write a slide about RDFa and how different implementations vary

You can use the Chrome extension to annotate a training event or material. Then you just go to the<website_address>  and parse the annotations.

e.g., here's one I did earlier

Install Chrome extension, go to then parse RSS
