Meeting

Ontology Annotator

Created a spreadsheet document containing the list of functional and nonfunctional requirements so we can assess viable options

 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iuBgYv6dKVHKAqyy7ksDzKxxuFDc12bvyp4S3Jl7pmk/edit#gid=0

Milo has created a spreadsheet containing the suggested categories for all materials as offered by Bioportal Annotator. Will create gold standard to compare these outputs too.

Disk space issue

Had disk space issues on Finnish server. 15GB given had been reached. Deleted files but still had difficulties. Finnish people have given us extra partition and now we'll direct our database dumps and log files to new partition.

UPDATE AFTER MEETING: This has now been implemented. Another issue happened after a rogue script generated hundreds of thousands of files – too many for a VM to be able to handle. Also fixed

TeSS/TCC Planning

Come up with title for AHM in Rome

Chose: Exploring synergies between the BD2K and ELIXIR training portals (TCC & TeSS)

Rafa should Invite jose-luiz, phil barker to bioschemas kick-of March to work on training, events, courses etc schemas.

Also include Gabry, Louisa and Sarah Morgan.

Other

Delegate one workflow to Celia (NL), Patricia (CH), Pedros (PT) have PMs and are keen to contribute to TeSS.

Terri TtT workshop in couple weeks - will see patricia etc - talk to swiss people - mary claude creates sequence analysis for diseases materials. Could focus on that?

Action Niall: Send email to people with PMs in TeSS about creating new Workflows.

Bd2k/TeSS meeting agenda has tools parts. AZTEC - US tools registry.

Discuss with Jon and the biotools developers about working with BD2K as well, maybe attending the meeting in CA.

Might want to keep the focus down to just training related stuff however.

Action Niall: talk to Jon about curata-thon - create mappings between tools and training - hub may subsidize.

Possibly do it online? Have incentives - like t-shirt, mugs etc - partition to 50 resources each - get free shirt if you complete one.

Show contributors - who contributed the most to gamify. Absurd not to really, as the time someone would spend voluntarily adding metadata would get them the same kudos as them do nothing at all.

Rafa: See myExperiment for good gamification model - lots of favourites, following, contributors lists, rankings etc.

Rita: Statistics - collect stats about click-through rate. What traffic are host institutions receiving from us. Useful to know - for publicity, to defend TeSS.

Rafa: Promotion - Twitterbot - tweets about TeSS when keyword used anywhere in twitter.

Planning on making whole subscription service - select a filter in TeSS and subscribe with e-mail, twitter handle, other social media - receive regular updates when new things come up. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SWcvdfcFFkrFtVrhHhYt6p5X7Z_ewGXPeSz_3NgoY-Q/edit#heading=h.y42i2yn6ku7
