A component profile is described in an XML document that conforms to a the XML schema at http://ns.taverna.org.uk/2012/component/profile/ComponentProfile.xsd

Management of component profiles can be done using the possibilities under the Components menu.

Component profiles are stored within a component registry. There are two ways of putting a component profile into a component registry:

  • Importing a profile, or
  • Copying a profile from another registry

Importing a profile

If you choose to import a profile, then a dialog will open

In the dialog you choose

  • the component registry into which you are importing the profile. This is one of the registries as defined in the components preferences.
  • the location of the file containing the component profile. You can also Browse to find the file.
  • the policy that you want to use for sharing the profile. You can make the profile public or private. You can also use complex sharing policies determined by the groups you are a member of.
  • the license under which you are sharing the profile

The sharing policy and license are only available for remote registries.

Copying a profle

If you choose to copy a profile, then a dialog will open:

In the dialog you choose

  • the component registry from which you are copying the profile. This is one of the registries as defined in the components preferences.
  • the profile in the source component registry
  • the component registry into which you are copying the profile.This is one of the registries as defined in the components preferences.
  • the policy that you want to use for sharing the profile. You can make the profile public or private. You can also use complex sharing policies determined by the groups you are a member of.
  • the license under which you are sharing the profile

The sharing policy and license are only available when you are copying to a remote registry.

Deleting a profile

Deletion of a component profile is not possible yet. It may be made possible in future versions of the component plugin
