The myExperiment preferences control what information you see when using the myExperiment perspective. These preferences can be changed by:

  1. In Taverna, select Preferences from the Taverna or File menu.
  2. Select myExperiment from the Preferences pop up window.
  3. Change the preferences as shown below.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Close the Preferences pop up window.

Base URL of myExperiment instance to connect to

Base URL of myExperiment instance to connect to controls which myExperiment you browse, search etc. Some institutions and groups will host their own instance of myExperiment.

In general users should not change the value of this URL from http://www.myexperiment.org

Default startup tab for anonymous users

Default startup tab for anonymous users controls which information you see when you initially view the myExperiment perspective and have not logged in. The entries in the pull-down list correspond to tabs within the myExperiment perspective .

If you automatically log in to myExperiment, then Default startup tab after successful auto-login is more useful.

The default My Stuff is a good choice.

The myExperiment perspective does not currently support log in via OpenId . It is hoped this will change in the future.

Sections to show in this tab

Sections to show in this tab determines what type of objects are shown in the myExperiment perspective when you are logged into myExperiment.

It is not a good idea to untick My Workflows because the myExperiment perspective is mainly useful for workflows

Buttons

If you click Help then you will obtain help on this dialog. Reset resets the values to the last applied values. Apply takes the shown values and applies them to Taverna.
